1. Overview
gigPrompter is a songbook and teleprompter application for musicians. This policy distinguishes the data practices of the iOS/iPadOS app from the data practices of the public website at gigprompter.com.
The app is designed around local files. The website is a marketing and support site and does not connect to the app’s song library.
2. App data collection
gigPrompter does not collect, sell, or share personal information, song content, setlists, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, location information, contacts, or diagnostic information through a gigPrompter-operated service.
The app contains no gigPrompter account system, advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, tracking SDK, developer-operated song upload, or iCloud song-library service.
3. Local song and setlist files
Song files, imported text, converted PDF content, setlists, performance state, and settings are stored within the app’s local storage. Files remain on the device unless the user deliberately exports, shares, copies, backs up, or otherwise moves them through Apple system features or another service chosen by the user.
Files app sharing is enabled so the user can manage app documents. Any destination selected through the Files app, share sheet, backup system, external storage provider, or third-party app is governed by that destination’s terms and privacy practices.
4. PDF and text import
gigPrompter accepts text and PDF files as import sources. Text extraction and optical character recognition are performed on the device using Apple system frameworks. The imported source is reviewed and converted into an editable text song.
The app does not upload the source PDF, recognized text, converted song, or import confidence information to gigPrompter or third parties.
5. External display and control features
External display output, including HDMI or AirPlay behavior, uses Apple platform capabilities and the user’s selected hardware or network. Bluetooth pedals are received as local keyboard/HID input events.
Leader/Band Member synchronization uses nearby local-network peer-to-peer communication to send performance position and related performance state from the Leader to connected Member devices. Member devices are receive-only for performance control. This synchronization is not routed through a gigPrompter-operated server.
The app does not report connected display, adapter, pedal, or local Band Member information to a gigPrompter-operated service.
6. Third-party services in the app
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, account, or tracking SDKs. It relies on Apple platform frameworks for document access, PDF processing, optical character recognition, local networking, external display handling, and StoreKit subscription entitlements.
Apple processes subscription purchases, eligibility for the seven-day introductory free trial, renewals, cancellations, and StoreKit entitlement status under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices. Device backup, diagnostic-sharing settings, and other Apple system services are likewise governed by Apple.
7. Data handled by gigprompter.com
The public website does not access the app’s local files. Website data may include:
- Contact-form information: name, email address, selected topic, and message content voluntarily submitted by the visitor.
- Email correspondence: messages and replies sent to or from sales@gigprompter.com.
- Basic server logs: the hosting provider may record IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, response status, and related technical information for security, troubleshooting, and reliable delivery.
- Form security data: the contact form uses a short-lived signed security token submitted with the form. No PHP session is required.
Contact information is used to respond to the inquiry, provide requested support, manage a press or business request, or address a privacy question. It is not sold or used for cross-site advertising.
9. Retention and deletion
The app’s local files remain under the user’s control and can be edited or deleted through the app and supported system file-management features.
Website contact messages and related email correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support history, satisfy operational or legal requirements, and prevent abuse. Server-log retention is controlled by the hosting provider and server configuration.
To request deletion of voluntarily submitted contact information, email sales@gigprompter.com from the same address used in the inquiry and identify the message to be removed. Some records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
10. Children
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults. The website is directed to musicians, performers, and people evaluating the product, and is not designed to solicit personal information from children under 13.
11. Security
Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect the website and contact workflow. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Visitors should not submit passwords, payment-card information, government identifiers, confidential contracts, or copyrighted files they are not authorized to share.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy is reviewed whenever the app’s data-handling practices change. The effective date at the top of this page is updated when the policy changes.
13. Contact
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to sales@gigprompter.com.
